Beating Time
We are Beating Time Singers and it's a pleasure, yet again, to be invited back to partake at this great Festival of Wicklow Voices. Beating Time are all about harmonies! We do this in the Barbershop Style which is a specific type of accapella harmony sung in 4 distinctive parts, ranging from Tenor (high) right down to the Bass line (low) and then the Baritone and Lead which sit in between.
This year at Wicklow Sings we are very happy to introduce to you, our new MD Lucy O'Connell, and we look forward to lots more exciting times ahead with Lucy at the helm.
Since our inception in 1998, we have represented Wicklow on many Local, National and European levels. We get a great buzz competing in competitions which keeps us on our toes. Over the years we have taken home many noteworthy accolades.
Beating time are always happy to welcome new likeminded members who love to sing harmony and have plenty of fun with us along the way. We rehearse every Thursday in Bray from 8pm to 10pm. Remember! You don't necessarily need to read music, just be able to hold a line. Why not come down and give it a go🎶

Wicklow Male Voice Choir
The choir takes its membership mostly from Wicklow Town and surrounding areas and has performed in Wales, France, Germany and Poland. It has hosted other choirs on their visits to Wicklow - most recently a visiting choir from Motigny, France (twinned with Wicklow). The highlight of the visit was a charity concert performed in Wicklow by both choirs. Wicklow Male Voice Choir sings at many charity events and concerts and puts on a major concert with guest performers once a year each December. The choir tries to participate in one choral competition each year. Mr Anthony Norton is the Musical Director.

Wicklow Choral Society
Wicklow Choral Society is a mixed voice choir of approximately fifty singers. We are an amateur choir and our members come from all walks of life - what we have in common is our enjoyment of singing choral music. The choir was founded as Wicklow Choral Group in 2002 by Marie Kavanagh. Frank Kelly became musical director in 2004 and the choir was re-named Wicklow Choral Society in honour of the legendary Mirette Dowling who for many years directed a choir of that name in the town. In September 2022, James Bingham took over the baton of Musical Director. The aim of Wicklow Choral Society is to perfrom a wide range of choral works to the highest standard, both for the enjoyment of its members and also to promote the cultural and musical life of the community. The choir rehearses once a week in Wicklow Educate Together National School. We normally perform two concerts a year - a Christmas Carol Concert in December and our main performance in May.

Greystones Community College Choir
Greystones Community College Choir is a post primary ensemble consisting of a small number of students from 1st and 2nd year. This young choir which is in its infancy has matured considerably in the last two years since their inception. Under the guidance of Ms Aoife Jones and accompanied by Ms Sinead O'Donovan, the choir has gained confidence and has enjoyed perfroming at many recent events to great acclaim. Growing in numbers annually, the choir has become the heart of Greystones Community College and has already started gaining praise in the wider community as they leave no stone unturned in their musical endeavours.

Serendipity
Serendipity is an award-winning, fun loving group of women who enjoy acapella singing in the Barbershop style. Songs range from swing to ballads to pop and we love to entertain at all types of functions. When not singing, we like to socialise and have fun together.

Blessington Millenium Choir
The Blessington Millenium Choir was founded as an initiative to celebrate the Millenium, in 2000. Over the years, the choir has performed in Germany, France, England, and many different venues in Ireland, mainly to fundraise for local charities. Our music has ranged from Bach to the Beatles, with bits of Faure, Leonard Cohen and even Gilbert and Sullivan thrown in! As with many choirs, Covid decimated our choir, so much so that we were not sure that we could continue but contact from Wicklow Sings seemed to give us a renewed purpose although our numbers are considerably reduced. Here's hoping we can continue for another 20 years!

Sound Crowd
The Sound Crowd is Music Generation Wicklow's community choir for children aged 8-12 with children from five local schools and rehearses weekly at Greystones Community School. Under the baton of experienced choir leader and Music Generation Wicklow Musician Educator Joan Dempsey, The Sound Crowd explores a wide range of repertoire, placing fun and musicality at the heart of the rehearsal and performance experience. It is a choir for children and young people who love to sing. Founded on the Music Generation principle of making music accessible for all, The Sound Crowd aims to enrich children's lives through performance and they are all delighted to have this opportunity to sing at the Wicklow Sings Festival!
